So, the one thing i keep hearing is that we as Americans should get off our collective asses and take a page from the peaceful change that is being demanded in Egypt and other mideast countries...
We know our media is corporate-run and govt-supported we know that the rich have the top percentage of money, while the rest of us are seeing life get worse we know that the govt, right AND left is really corrupt and more interested in their own power than the people they are supposed to represent we know that it is just a matter of time till the economy implodes again
and much more instability and uncertainty is looming, none of us feel really safe or certain about the future if we keep going the way things are going. You can only prop up the bullshit for so long. It isn;t that Obama is a hateful dictator, but *something* is broken and the govt is not willing to fix it.
sooooooo....if we were to really get loud and demand the change we *thought* we voted for...what would it look like? it's one thing for us to sit here safe at our computers and say we want this to happen here, it is quite another to live it so how does a 'revolution' happen? and how does it happen without violence? is it possible? I would like to think the divisions between us could be remedied by real change from the people - but then there is that crazy wingnut factor to consider, and that makes it even more difficult becauseif there are factions, then the movement is easier for the govt to crush.
am i inciting something by even asking these questions? are the black vans on their way...? :tinfoilhat: :scared:
