Another wonderful thing about AlJ azeera's English
channel, it has a live stream that seems to be operational at all times. As far as I can tell, none of the U.S. networks do that. If I want to watch breaking news, since I don't have a TV, often I can't. Sometimes, such as in the Tucson shooting, CNN will go to live streaming. Other events, such as the party nominating conventions, or election night, or the Inauguration, various networks go live.

I am amazed at what I'm learning by watching Al Jazeera.

To me, parts of the ME are moving AHEAD of the US - better TV, involved citizens acting peacefully and responsibly.

I don't think there have been death threats and weapons caches, and dark stupid online stuff.

The US is regressing.

3. I started listening to AJ when Pacifica Radio started broadcasting it

I was very impressed with its coverage when I first heard it and have been completely blown away by the live broadcasts I've heard re: the Egyptian revolution.

This partnership is the smartest thing Pacifica has done in a loooong time.
