1. Well if it's happening in the Northeast you know that it will get national media coverage
and that's fine, but I doubt seriously if national media could cover a similarly sized storm over the Rocky Mountains.

7. Crazy..Dallas area schools to be closed again tomorrow
I can't think of the last time things were shut down for two days in a row...for the districts to decide/announce the 2nd day closure ***already*** is a first, too. Usually they drag their feet til 5 am.

The highways that they are showing on TV look like the rapture has arrived. Cars/semi's abandoned.

34. Already below freezing here and it continues to drop as what little
heat we developed during the day dissipates into the clear night. We're supposed to have a high chance for sleet or snow later in the week here in south Texas. That's a rare thing indeed.

...Shaq:

No, really. We're using him to measure the snowbanks now.

Seriously, the right bank is about six feet. The left one is slightly lower, because the dryer vent from the house is right at the back of it, so doing laundry has been melting it.

2) Come and play with us, Danny.

Forever.

And ever.

And ever.

33. It does feel like walking through a snow maze.
There is a mound 20+ feet in the parking lot across the street. I don't mind it, except that they choose to load the snow in dump trucks with front end loaders at 2:00 AM.

12. Been there, done that
In over a half century of being born and raised in NY. I rather would rather that any day than this miserable state of Florida with burning, endless sun, and 80 degrees. Cannot wait to move back this summer.

Bye, bye, Florida. THIS old person HATES you.

27. +1 million
I know how you feel. My favorite part is four months of 93 degrees every day and ninety percent humidity mixed with intense burn-in-12-minutes sunshine. And hearing the weather people saying what a beautiful day it is, and under -reporting the amount of people who die from heat related illness.
Add to that a tea bag governor and senator and house... I'm moving back to NY just as soon as I can.

The only good thing about it is, at least it's cold and dry. As opposed to hot and dry, or cold and wet.

22. Suffering at 80 degrees here today.
I was supposed to drive a friend to the airport around noon. She was going to land in Manchester NH, where it would have been 4 degrees.

Just before we left for the airport, her daughter called and said they just closed the airport there, and it won't reopen again until Friday.

We went out for cocktails to celebrate her "misfortune". Of course, we had margarita's at the outdoor bar.
