I retract what I wrote about Twitter--this is no joke.
Edited on Thu Feb-03-11 03:43 PM by Mike 03
Twitter does serve a critical purpose. In Haiti, it has been crucial to channeling effort into productivity, and in Egypt it has proved vital in transmitting life-saving information. I may wish it was put to better use by some of the people who use it, but it does WAY MORE GOOD than harm. Anybody who was offended by my criticism of Twitter, I owe you an apology.

I think the dumbest post I ever wrote on DU was to criticize Twitter. I was very wrong and engaging in tunnelvision. If it had not been for Twitter, I would not have been able to help with the crisis in Haiti, and obviously with developments in Egypt, Twitter is more than a cute device; it is a life preserver.

Twitter has proven its value, in spades.

I am deeply sorry for minimizing the importance of this amazing tool.

5. You were on point when it comes to the US average user
which tweet goes something like this...

Done for the day, time to knock it off. Ah TEA!

But abroad it is a great and amazing tool.

We COULD use it the same way, but I guess we're not ready to go beyond navel grazing.

13. Navel grazing?
Like eating smegma?

I knew there was some reason other than its name that I didn't become a user.

Yuck

9. No apologies necessary. Like all tools, when properly used...
it does a good job.

It's great for reporting up to the minute world developments.

It's terrible and completely useless when reporting food stuck between ones teeth.
