Anyone know why live cameras are not longer active at Tahrir Square?

Al Jazeera had one (or more) there the last few days...now just still pictures and phone interviews with correspondents.

Brian Williams and Katie Couric have also left the country.

in the past 24 hours. Reuters building was attacked and so was the Hilton (where many Journo's are hunkered down). Much equipment smashed or confiscated. All out war on Journalists - just too risky right now.

1218: Three Polish journalists covering the unrest in Cairo have been detained by police, AFP quotes Polish Television TVP as saying. Two other TVP journalists who were detained and then released said police "took all our documents, all our equipment and then destroyed our camera", before handing them over to the army who released them.

A highly organized sweep of attacks on ALL reporters, of all countries, happened, hotel rooms broken into, equipment destroyed. This was planned to drive all news coverage out of the country.
And THAT has ugly implications.
