WICHITA | A landlord has sued to keep a Wichita doctor from performing abortions at the space she leases in an office complex, reigniting the divisive debate that has simmered here since Dr. George Tiller was gunned down while serving as a church usher.
Abortion services haven't been offered in Wichita since Tiller, one of the nation's few late-term abortion providers, was killed by anti-abortion activist Scott Roeder in May 2009.
The lawsuit filed this week by Foliage Development seeks a temporary restraining order to keep Dr. Mila Means from performing abortions at its office complex in Wichita. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15.
Protestors have staged demonstrations at Means' clinic since The Associated Press broke the news in December that a Kansas City abortion clinic had been training her and Dr. Greg Linhardt on how to perform abortions at their separate Wichita practices.

The anti-abortion group Kansas for Life is planning a prayer rally on Friday night to address Means' plans.
The rally is being held at a public school attended by Rinker's daughter
that is across from the church where Tiller was killed.
