His parents, Quinn and Mardra Sikora, bid at a charity auction to get him the opportunity to join the touring company onstage.
Snip: Her son, Marcus, 20, was born with Down syndrome. Since about age 13, Marcus has been a rabid fan of Broadway musicals.
“He's always been a ham,” she said, smiling.
A student at the Madonna School at 71st Street and Redick Avenue, Marcus mimics the Broadway soundtracks he listens to constantly on his iPod.
Now, thanks to Mom, he has appeared onstage in a touring Broadway musical.
Marcus strolled his way through parts of two songs, “Jolly Holiday” and “Let's Go Fly a Kite,” at Thursday night's performance of “Mary Poppins” at the Orpheum Theater.
