I will say one good thing about Reagan
No Democrat could have gotten away with negotiating arms control with the Soviets in the 1980's. Reagan took the risk of alienating the right wing of the Republican Party and even went to the LEFT of many Democrats in proposing a total abolition of nuclear arms. On this issue, I have to give the old man his due.

3. He's dead
Personally I think he went for this arms control because the Soviets could verify it. He replaced it with things like Star Wars, where the Soviets couldn't tell what we had, or whether it worked.

5. He "negotiated" arms control by outspending the USSR.
Put us trillions in debt so he could negotiate from a position of power, then watched as military industrial complex overcharged taxpayers by the hundreds of billions. Remember the $2,000 wrenches? (whatever) He would not have been able to negotiate anything if it were not for Gorbachev. I doubt any previous Soviet premier or president would have negotiated anything with him, especially after his airport tirade (which was caught on film).

7. Are you forgetting the star wars missile shield?
There is something too simplistic in the way you put that. I can't remember all the details and would need to do research but there is much more to that anti nuclear story.

20. She looks like her cheeks melted. With her sunken eyes, she really looks like...
...she could be an android. Programmed to do the Evil One's bidding.

Reagan proposed total disarmament knowing that the Soviets would never go along with it--that gave him the excuse he wanted to build up his arms race to infinity and launch Star Wars and all the other toys the Pentagon wanted, that eventually bankrupted us.

Oh, and he armed Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. And the rest, as they say, is history....Worthless piece of shit. I'm very happy he's down where the worms can get him, but I doubt they would want him, either.

22. I can say one good thing about him.
He died when I was in London at a work-related conference. The Federal government in the DC area got excused for his funeral. It was also the day after the conference, which I was going to use a day of leave for. So, I got a free day off, without leave, in London.

THANK YOU FOR DYING, RONALD REAGAN!

...of Obama and the "New Democrats".
Rachel Maddow did a fascinating comparison last week.

He had the sense to Cut & Run when the Marine Barracks was bombed in Lebanon in 1983.
He was smart enough enough not to waste American Blood & Money in a country where we were not wanted.
