Protest of President Obama's Special Walk and Visit to U.S. Chamber of Commerce
When: Meet at 11 am, Monday, February 7, 2011

Where: H Street side of Lafayette Park, H and 16th ST NW, Washington, DC

Why: Join the nurses of National Nurses United/California Nurses Association and other friends of labor as we protest that President Obama is not walking to the house of labor two blocks from the White House but to the US Chamber of Commerce headquarters that has fought against the interests of workers and their families. He will speak to those assembled in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce building while workers outside ask him to protect our Social Security, fight for Medicare for all and build an economy that protects the people whose labor has built and defended this nation. Bring signs in support of protecting Social Security, advancing Medicare for all, growing economic security and making spending priorities reflect the needs of the people.

4. It's very sad but that's capitalism for you, profit over people. Our system needs a transition
Edited on Sun Feb-06-11 08:01 AM by Catherina
of its own from capitalism. How much longer will people support a system where so many have no homes, no jobs, can barely feed their families while the state gives our money to the military industrial complex, wall street and crooked corporations? Oh America, I barely knew ye.

In Egypt, 1% of the families control 90% of the country's wealth. What's the figure here now?

I noticed how everyone's scrambling now with cosmetic changes in Egypt, for Egypt, to share just a little more wealth with the people. They really don't understand that it's the shackles the people want off now, not a better meal in economic captivity.

Rec'd of course.

5. I feel President Obama did not come to be president to change the system
but to strengthen the strangle hold of corporate power.
