Senate confirms Diaz (first Latino in court’s history), Dems expand control of 4th Circuit, again

Judge Albert Diaz: United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
Confirmed today by Unanimous Consent after months of delays
50 Year Old.


The U.S. Senate today unanimously confirmed Charlotte Judge Albert Diaz to the U.S. Court of Appeals, ending what had become the nation's longest wait and giving North Carolina its third judge on the 4th Circuit.

Diaz becomes the first Latino on the Richmond-based court.

"I'm grateful and I'm really humbled to be able to join the court and I look forward to serving our nation in this new capacity," Diaz said.

5. It's amazing how the 4th circuit has gone from the most right-wing to the least right-wing in such a
short period of time.
