I'm SICK and TIRED of movie characters turning their backs on explosions!
You know what I'm talking about: They keep on walking as a HUGE explosion occurs right behind them. They never look back.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but, when I watch one of these physically (and physiologically) ridiculous scenes, I cannot help but think of neocon wingnuts fucking up a situation, or a whole damn COUNTRY, and then blithely walking away as though nothing had happened. End of rant.

9. Real people usually react to explosions in one of two ways, depending on the situation
They laugh at harmless ones, and have a fight-or-flight reaction from ones that cause damage.

19. Lots of funny stuff in the movies. Like always fastening seatbelts..
doesn't matter if Jason w/the hockey mask is on their trail.
cars making squealing-rubber sounds as they tear up a dirt driveway
drivers turning to look at their passenger for 5 or 6 seconds as they drive a (sometimes) busy road.
What a gas! I can't tell you how many times I reminded my kids, as young drivers, that YOU DON'T make eye contact and stare into your lover's eyes when you're driving.
Jeez...movies!

37. Or hitting a hidden ramp and flipping over
sideways. Is that a stunt man union requirement for all action movies?

And automobiles don't explode unless hit from behind. (Which is the one time cars never explode in the movies. Like when 10 cop cars pile up when chasing the Blues Brothers or Burt Reynolds.)

30. Gee, up until that last line I was in agreement with you.
The last line made made me know you were right! Nothing says mature like posting that a thread should be moved because it bothers you. Most immature people would just ignore what they didn't like, or click on the X, or something childish like that. :applause: to you, sir! Or madame! I could check but I have to go clean my play pen.

36. The subject line itself suggested a thread of little substance, so why did
you even click on it? Just pass on by.

No offense meant to the OP, just an observation with a question.

'Hide thread' feature, that little x in the box on the subject line works well also.

26. If the Character in Question Caused the Explosion,
there is a certain place for that sort of scene, but it is way overused for dramatic effect. If you want to act innocent, don't react like you expected things to blow up.

34. isn't this also physically impossible?
O rat least unlikely?

Huge explosion means huge shock wave.

And here the hero is, standing all tall, providing a nice big target for that shock wave ot hit and push around like a paper doll.
