20 min shoveling snow.... geeesh. gettin old. sure nice having a 15 yr old son
fit and in condition. huge driveway. another walkway and steps... he is doing good.

hot chocolate when he is done. remember when they were so young it took a half hour to gather the clothes and put on, only to take them all off in a half hour. then hot chocolate.

something to be said for parenting teenagers.

well, and i am paying him, too and he is figuring he is getting that work out he missed today.

1. Can I borrow him the next time it snows here?
At age 65, I'm not loving snow removal very much.

4. God.. how I HATED snowsuits..especially the slippery ones
I had 3 boys in 5 years and my middle one would go limp & slid down my side while I was trying to balance him on one hip and the baby in a carrier on the other one,,all while holding the hand of the oldest...

Needless to say, we usually stayed IN, in extremely cold days:)

only for the kid to need to pee.

my oldest loved spending time outside in storms at the youngest of age. odd kid.

9. mine too.. When we moved to NM, my oldest was desperate to make new friends
It was Thanksgiving weekend, so I sent him outside to meet the neighbor kids.. He came back in & said "Mom these kids are weird....they think it's COLD"."

why?

they had on boots, mittens, hats coats..it was about 45 outside.. My son was a Northern Indiana (lake Michigan) kid who played outside when it was zero:) He had on jeans & a sweatshirt & they were bundled up in NM..

6. just to add a note...
for older or out of shape/overweight folks... don't think you're 19 again and run out there and start shoveling. It's a VERY common way folks in that demo have heart attacks.

And if you ARE under 35-ish... go volunteer to shovel that neighbor's driveway.

12. Sure beats 6 hrs doing the same at 50 something.
I was never lucky enough to have kids. I hold the responsibility to care for my 90 y/o parents. It would be nice to have shared responsibilities. I'm sure my parents would love to have grand kids around and I'd love to have someone to share my skills and views on life.
