What I find particularly amazing is the stunning level of hypocrisy and projection among these self-styled amateur *constitutional scholars*. You never heard any of these people say ANYTHING about any of the number of things that happened under Bushco that could definitely be considered "ripping apart" the Constitution. Back then, however, the same people were supporting the claim that abridgments of civil liberties were wholly justified as being necessary to "fight terrorism" and "keep our country safe". President Obama certainly doesn't have a perfect record so far in terms of rolling back some of these abridgments but the way some of these Rethugs and Teabaggers talk about President Obama, somebody whom didn't know anything about what's been going on in our country during the last two years and/or anybody relying solely on Fox News and Glenn Beck for their news might be led to believe that our country has become a virtual dictatorship with Obama at the helm, which is certainly not the case and I think (or at least hope) that they don't seriously believe it. They know enough to refrain from calling for armed revolution. They're certainly smart enough to do that, so they seem to clearly know what they are doing. The right used a lot of the same lines (and lies) when Bill Clinton was POTUS, so I think that it is mainly just another way to rile up their base and get them to the polls, as well as, more importantly, to de-legitimize ANY Democratic President. Remember, it's all about power to them- hypocrisy be damned.
