Run for your lives! Fox says Bulletstorm causes rape
By Winda Benedetti

Oh Fox News ... will you ever tire of trying to terrify our nation?

In an article titled "Is Bulletstorm the Worst Video Game in the World?" Fox News reporter John Brandon does his best Chicken Little impression with this opening line: "Parents had better beware: There's a Bulletstorm on the horizon."

He's talking about the forthcoming first-person shooter from People Can Fly/Epic Games/EA due to hit stores Feb. 22. The game —which is an over-the-top, tongue-firmly-in-cheek, mad-cap bullet fest — is a "Mature"-rated game. That means it's meant for grown-ups (as in people 17 years and older) and has been labeled as such by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.

But don't tell Fox News that. The Fox article not only insists young children (9-year-olds, in fact) are going to be playing the game, it then goes on to quote an expert who claims games like "Bulletstorm" have caused an increase in sex crimes. Rape even.

12. Corners help with that
I learned that when I first met the Horde. Position yourself so they can come at you from only one direction (so your back is covered) and pull out the Line Gun. It helps.

Of course, taking off and nuking the site from orbit is the only way to be sure. :D

11. It's not nearly as scary as the first game, but only if you played the first game

I'll be posting a review in the Gaming Group once I'm further into it. My review of the first Dead Space has more than 67,000 views, so I'll put some effort into the review of the second game. First impressions are:

Dead Space 2 is visually fantastic
Dead Space 2 for the PC, unlike the first game, is an obvious console port (that is not a good thing)
Dead Space 2 will scare the piss out of you if you didn't play Dead Space
Dead Space 2 is obviously only part of a larger story (a very good thing)
Dead Space 2 is much easier to play with a controller than with a keyboard and mouse (see point #2)
Dead Space 2 is bloodier than the first game, which was over-the-top as it was

I'll post a complete review in a week or two- I'm on Chapter 3 right now and I want to get at least halfway through before I write about it.

6. That's just free advertising for the game!
The more noise you make about how intolerably decadent you think a game is, the more kids are going to want it.

Bad press is good press. Does Fox get a kickback?

9. I love how conservatives complain about violence in video games.
But then they cheer it on if Fox tells them to(Iraq etc). More proof that conservatives can't think for themselves.
