Twenty-five years ago today....

I was delivering singing balloonagrams.

I had to wear this goofy white top hat and tails with a red T-shirt.

I did 14 deliveries my one and only Valentines day delivering the balloons.

Two school teachers, on in the inner city and one in the suburbs. I was mocked silly.

I delivered one to a construction site. The fiance had ordered a woman, but they sent me instead. I was pelted with construction debris.

My last delivery was a valentine bouquet of balloons to s stripper who was turning 18 as well.

It was her coming out as a legal stripper.

It was in a rather unsavory establishment but it was touching to know the girl who was wiggling her stuff with me on stage was street legal.

It was interesting, to say the least, my favorite valentine day, in fact.

It was a one of a kind experience and I will always cherish that day.

It was my senior year in college, I had dropped out back in 1982 right in the middle of a downward spiral filled with bourban, beer and cocaine.

I sobered up in 1984 just in time to see reagan win AGAIN, almost enough to make me want to debauch again.

I was also working at an accounting firm surrounded by republicans at the time. I made more that day than I did the whole week being paid as an intern.

I was pelted with construction debris. :rofl:

Even though they were pissed off...

was the day before I married the love of my life. Tomorrow is our 25th anniversary, 3 kids later too....

Man, that really sucks. You had to sing, wear a costume, and take abuse. Poor thing :) I'd have hung myself.

But I ducked out as fast as I could...
