Iraq's Curveball: I'm proud my WMD lies led to war
LONDON – An Iraqi who has been identified as a key source for the U.S. case for war in Iraq says he is proud that he lied about his country developing mobile biological warfare labs.

The Guardian newspaper published an interview Wednesday with Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi, who has been identified as the informer called "Curveball." His claims about weapon labs formed part of then-U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell's speech to the U.N. Security Council in 2003, shortly before the war began.

The Guardian quoted Curveball as saying: "I had the chance to fabricate something to topple the regime. I and my sons are proud of that."

The Guardian says Curveball was interviewed in Germany.

2. Let him tell that directly to some of the soldiers families who died over this.
And he practically wrecked our entire economy in the process and led to the killings of 500,000 Iraqi's by our troops.

He's happy about this??!?!?!?!

3. When can we expect the War Crimes trials to start?
Either here or in The Hague, doesn't matter.

However - Dutch still wincing at Bush-era 'Invasion of The Hague Act'

4. This is bullshit.
We're supposed to believe that the administration decided to go to war with Iraq based on the word of one man? That decision was made long before this asshole came along.

5. He's the patsy.
This is his suicide bomb. His family probably gets $1 Million and this guy will take whatever heat he gets, even if it's jail or death.

6. Exactly.
Cheney, Bush, et al. can now say that the Iraq War was caused by faulty intelligence.
