Poll question: Does anyone ever remember a Republican President asking for consensus?
Consensus, corncensus, whatever, can't remember when Shrubby or his Dad asked for Consensus, yet Democrats seem to ask all the time.

6. Abraham Lincoln . . .
he followed James Buchanan, arguably one of the worst presidents in history.

A bit of a historical stretch but it has happened.

3. W said "either you are for us or you are against us." That's asking for consensus - kind of, maybe,
perhaps, probably.....not.

4. They don't need it
They want to shrink the government, have the government do nothing. Doing nothing doesn't require consensus.

It's built into their philosophy not to need it.

Democrats do, so I don't see anything wrong with trying for it.

5. Giving up moral high ground for common ground is not a win.
Logical, thinking people know that consensus is not a realistic possibility.

Only a fool would abandon their beliefs to strive for this impossiblity.

8. Yes. H.W. and the "liberation" of Kuwait.
To his credit, he honored the agreement with Congress and with the other nations that were involved and stopped the war after Kuwait was free of Iraqi occupation. Unfortunately, his shit-for-brains moron spawn fucked everything up.

12. I don't know about consensus, but as I remember Dwight D Eisenhower
was a pretty impressive president for all America. One of his last speeches before leaving office was a definitive warning about the military industrial complex.
