Just realized the purpose of Ann Coulter, Limbaugh, Beck, and crew.

They are tasked with pushing the envelope, so that otherwise outrageous and unpalatable right wing positions will seem tame and middle of the road.

I don't know why it took me so long to understand. I'd hear Ann Coulter say things like her most recent, "More journalists should be jailed", and her comment that it was a shame in her view that the NYT building wasn't bombed, and wonder what kind of crazy she was...but more to the point, why was she given national exposure, when there are more rational people talking to parking meters in every city.

I get it now.

Head Start, LIHEAP, and PBS. With the help of their corporate sponsors and their DLC/Blue Dog allies, of course.

They are merely a distraction, and that includes the "former Alaska Governor whose name must not be spoken" as well. Her and Bachmann are their useful idiots.

2. Exactly. The look in Coulter's eyes when she laid that last whopper out there told me

that this is theater, but it is not designed to entertain, but has a strategic function.

I wish there was a way to discern if there was Koch money coming to her. I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

I never thought I'd see the idiotic things coming out of the Iowa Statehouse. I've lived here all my life, but I've never seen it this bad. It's like they are trying to divert our attention, but from what?
