Rick Scott, you bastard...
Edited on Wed Feb-16-11 05:40 PM by Zephie
You are killing thousands of jobs, denying the state and it's citizens revenue, encouraging continued use of nonenvironmentally friendly means of travel, and forcing money out of the working mans pocket for everyone who works between Tampa and Orlando at the pump! You think that Florida doesn't need that 2.4 billion in stimulus money? You think messing with our state budget is "fun?"

You are a slimy, horrible, lying bastard and I am disappointed in my state for electing you (and many other things my state has done) but we are suffering enough already. The cost of living here is ridiculous enough as is, jobs are nigh impossible to come by, and you think that your actions are going to go unnoted? You are so very, very wrong.

1. From what I understand...
... this was free money for Florida. The rail line would have been built almost entirely with federal money, without any state significant contribution. They already knew where it was going to go--down the I-4 median. Even the Republican chair of the House transportation committee, who is from Florida, was in favor of it.

It just seemed like a complete no-brainer. But that's apparently a better description for Scott himself.

3. These Republican governors just don't want the Obama stimulus to get credit...
...for doing something big in their state. I'm pretty convinced thats what a lot of this it about.

15. Cutting this program is pure politics
Killing a program created by a Democratic President.

I wonder what oil company is in his pocket.

No train, more driving required.

6. It's the GOP plan.
Republican governors refuse the stimulus money and that keep unemployment from coming down so republicans running in 2012 can use high unemployment numbers against the president, and democrats running for re-election!

I like what the president said though if they refuse it, send it to a state that "WILL" use it to put people to work! If republicans keep on playing these stupid games, there should be protests at the state capitals by those who need the work! This should backfire on them big time! Refusing money that would create jobs is insane, and when republicans used "JOBS" as their number one concern during the elections, yet still have not done one thing to create those jobs, people are going to get really pissed off!

7. It's common knowledge Scott is a thief.

My guess would be he personally wanted a piece of the action and no one would play ball with him.
Time will tell. The truth will come out eventually.

8. I'll trade you for Ohio's Gov. John Kasich
After he helped to weaken the laws over seeing wall street and banking he went to
work for Lehmann Brothers here he got the State of Ohio to invest $480 million in
public workers retirement accounts into a Lehmann Brothers managed fund which
then went belly up along w/ the company taking 100s of millions of dollars w/ it ....
but Kasich walked w/ a huge commission check which he refused to speak about
how much it was for .....

These are robber barons who will try to wring every nickel out of the system for themselves and their rich buddies and they need to be fought tooth and nail.

11. I am SO pissed.
On a personal level one of those parks he was going to chop for tax money for the rich was where I got married and also the only place I have a photo of my father and I before he died while I was an infant. My husband and I actually sat down and cried when we saw it on that list.

Makes things easier. That means now I can give a ride to 3 people (yay!) who would like to attend. Anyone a reasonable distance from I-75 between Tampa and Tally need a ride?
