Here's what the House did today: Blocked all funds for Planned Parenthood and defunded the Health
Care legislation.

House blocks fed aid for Planned Parenthood

The 240-185 vote on Friday is a victory for anti-abortion forces led by Indiana GOP Rep. Mike Pence. He says taxpayer money should not go to groups that provide or promote abortion.

Democrats say Planned Parenthood provides contraception and other valuable family planning services, and that cutting off the money will make it hard for women to get such basic help.

Planned Parenthood provides services in hundreds of clinics around the country. Pence aides say the group reported receiving $363 million in federal money in its latest report.

The proposal is part of a bill that seeks to cut government spending this year.

The Democratic-run Senate has stronger abortion rights views than does the House, making it unlikely the House proposal will survive.

7. You have that backwards
If the House does not agree it can not be funded. Eventually the issue will be decided in a combined budget committee where the horse trading will be done. It is not clear that there will be the political will in the Senate to fight for this.

16. Continuing resolution, no biggie.
Just no new real legslitation for 2 years, is all. And that's, sadly, what Obama is banking on, for his reelection, not for the people.

2. Let's see: Shred the social safety net for women and children
Defund Planned Parenthood, which prevents unwanted children from being born by educating on the effective use of birth control, as well as offering health care for women.

What's next on the Republicans' agenda?

Ladies, if you sleep with a Republican, you need to stop. TODAY. They hate women, and they will stop at nothing to see us under their control.

10. those maps are scary.
in 2012 I see maybe 3 Repug seats in danger and in 2014 I see 1-2 in danger. In 2012 I see vigorous fights for Dems in 8-9 states and in 2014 another 10-11,

15. An obvious pro-life policy would be defund all war to save lives
(a a side effect would be to improve lives).

Turn a scaled down military into a domestic and international peace and infrastructure force in the Department of Peace.

After being silly, Planned Parenthood is a highly positive institution (PP actually was naescent in the American engenic period).

Tonight I watched part of Mathews on MSNBC. They had some wing nut (PP videos, abortion, videos, PP bad). Mathews argued with the idiot but why even give air time? Why not get someone who is smart and serious?
