1. Kent State 1970 is not now.
If you want to see a REL rebellion in this country, wait until the Guard shoots a few middle-class, middle-aged demonstrators.

3. While you are correct that the Guard has fired.....

on citizens in the past...your post seems a bit paranoid. Kasich would assure his impeachment were that to occur in the present. and the thing he values most is the title on the door.

6. The comment about Kasich was snarkish.
Strickland has just called him a Tyrant.

7. Wouldn't that depend on how badly the crowd was behaving?
Some people in this country actually believed at the time that the Kent State shootings were justified.

A Gallup Poll taken immediately after the shootings showed that 58 percent of respondents blamed the students, 11 percent blamed the National Guard and 31 percent expressed no opinion.

In my opinion, that's STILL the country in which we reside.

4. NOT IF THE PRESIDENT STANDS UP TO HIM
The President is the Commander in Chief of the National Guard and he can federalize it under the Warner Act and then give the order to stand down.

12. Agreed but if any Gov calls out the Guard against workers
it MUST be stopped. There is no choice.

16. What do you think half the point of embroiling them in the atrocities...
...of Afghanistan and Iraq has been all about? Desensitisation.

That plus putting the Texans in Queens the fundies in San Francisco, and those from the original 13 just about anywhere else would be more than enough to get Americans firing on Americans if "THEY" ever do decide to go the whole hawg with martial law.
