One point I have not heard about Madison: The Weather
It is damned cold weather to be standing outside for hours at a time.
I believe that weather blunting a protest was one of the reasons Walker chose to push this now.
Surely not a major factor, but I bet that there was an expectation that no more than a couple thousand might come out in cold, cold weather to protest.
Along with doing it during the regular work week, I bet Walker's little banditos never thought they would get this much reaction.

Thank you Wisconsin union members and supporters.

4. it's been a little chilly
Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 09:53 PM by Lefta Dissenter
on the Isthmus, with the wind sweeping up from the lakes, but DAMN I'm proud of my state. I just got home - I've gone in every day since Tuesday. This was a remarkable day that made me so incredibly proud to be a Wisconsinite. Much redemption after the shame I felt a little over a week ago when Walker first made his announcement.

MAN, I'm tired, and I haven't even been spending the nights there!

edited to add that it's all in the layering! :)

12. Northern IL here and I can testify that it's actually been on the warm side lately
In the 40s with a lot of sun. I know that may seem extreme to some southerners but actually, this week has been mild compared to some of the brutal weather we've been having.

I'm not really too fussed over snow either. Anything less than 5 inches shouldn't pose too many problems for northerners.

15. They're tougher than any teabaggers and they'll endure
Those folks up there are the true renaissance people. Teabaggers just talk tough. They're pampered wussies.
