Ok Winsconsinites, FIRST AID for Hypothermia
I know I should have posted this oh five days ago... but better late than never.

The most important piece of that is to move a person out of the cold, and take any wet clothing off them. If you happen to have warm blankets, use them. If you happen to have means to heat up, but do not include lamps or alcohol go for it.

Oh and if you are walking out in the snow, please wear layered clothing and your first layer should wick sweat away from the skin.

And speaking as somebody who had it at a rescue scene is not fun.

1. Don't feel bad. It was ~relatively~ warm this past week. Only last night...
...did the temps drop. Thanks for this, nad.

2. You welcome,
and do stay warm. One thing I used to do with my crews was cycle them into warm vehicles every 20 minutes or so. When I got it, I was inside the vehicle with the patient for close to an hour... not like I could go anywhere.

I still remember doc going drink that hot coffee... he'd rather have had me drink something NON caffeinated. and kept me off for the rest of the shift.
