Limbaugh, "freeloaders," first responders and the military
Okay, so Beck, Palin, et all are sinking rapidly as far as an audience, being seen for the horrendous jokes they really are.

I think Limbaugh's comments about the Wisconsin protests are his Waterloo. When the right-wing meme of "government freeloaders" and all the other nastiness he spews applies to FIRST RESPONDERS, they obviously don't realize what they're messing with.

Just as Walker obviously didn't realize the can of whup-ass he opened up.

Here is Big Ed's clip, in which it shows Limbaugh's loathsomeness in all its glory.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/19/ed-schultz-limbaugh-wisconsin_n_825601.html

"They told us on 9/11, we will never forget...that we're all Americans...they wrapped themselves in the flag... If you want to follow the Limbaugh and the Becks of the world, and you want to turn your back on firefighters, turn your back on police officers, turn your back on nurses, turn your back on brothers and sisters who have stood in solidarity to fight for the middle class in America? Is that wrapping yourself in the flag? Hey Rush: why don't you wrap your fat ass in the flag on Monday?"

If this isn't jumping the shark by attacking first responders, I don't know what is. What if we use this to enlist military members and the unions, especially the various veterans and active personnel against the wars and the firefighters and police union members -- to sign a petition to get him off military radio since he is dissing the heart of America, the first responders the right-wing claims to love so much?

Getting him off military radio is a MUST, imho!

Can you see any reason not to roll with this? Maybe get Iraq Veterans Against the War and the WI unions to help spearhead it, encouraging active military to please sign it?

1. Why does Rush DraftDodger Limbaugh HATE our American firefighters?
Edited on Sun Feb-20-11 08:50 AM by SpiralHawk
Does he not see all the hard work, and all the good they have done for the United States of America?

What's wrong with Rush DraftDodger Limbaugh (R) ?

2. We know that, in truth, he hates Americans, including his listeners...
His type hates everyone, because he hates himself.

And I sure as shit don't blame him.

3. Hmmm? Shame? Self-loathing? That could very well be his issue...
...I mean, with his track record of dodging the draft with the excuse of an anal pimple, and his tragic drug addition, he may very well (far below the conscious level) be deeply ashamed of himself.

That could be source from which he the projects through his show all of that faux arrogance and unbounded HATE of all that is good, solid, honest, hard-working, and American.

I ain't no shrink, but you may well have put your, um, finger, on his problem...

17. It isn't about hate. It's about love of money. Pay him more to change his tune
and his tune will change. It's all about who has the most $$$$$$$. He'll blather on all day if the money is good.

10. No, he doesnt
He can't see the hard work they've done because he doesn't know what hard work is, he has no frame of reference since he's never done a single day's work in his miserable life. :grr:

4. I was glad when Big Ed was allowed on Armed Forces Radio finally.
Removing Oxyrush would be a coup.

7. Rush also said that retired people "were on the dole" - a elderly man called
in and passionately ripped into him. I heard this exchange months ago and I don't have a link. But I love it when the truth sneaks into his show and he becomes a blubbering fool. He absolutely does not know what to do when challenged or confronted with the truth.

8. I really have no adequate words for him.
I know many say that if he wasn't there spewing his hate that another would just step into his shoes, as his listeners crave it.

I'd like to think that if we had a reprieve from his lies and hate, some people might wake up. Like a Stepford Wives effect...snap out of their hate-induced coma which resulted from listening to him for so long.

I'm truly not concerned about Beck and Hannity and all the other as I used to be; they've been exposed and are losing their audiences, albeit gradually.

Limbaugh started hate radio decades ago; he's the most visible, last bastion of hate, imho.

11. You always come up with the best ideas

This is another good one.

There are sites where you can post a petition, then just get the word out to as many organizations as you can. Maybe search to see if someone else is already doing this so you can combine efforts.

Members of the National Guard are workers and first responders. They have to be outraged listening to Limbaugh in Iraq, with their asses on the line and his parked in an easy chair. There are no doubt many in our armed forces who would like to personally escort him out of his studio....

12. Great suggestion about the National Guard!
YOU always have great ideas and suggestions, and I appreciate you.

I am going to look into this more. I know there have been ongoing petitions re: Limbaugh (and there are great sites from which to launch new petitions), but given his latest spew-fest, I'll see if there is a petition enlisting union members (especially first responders), National Guard and military specifically to get him off Armed Forces Radio.

:hi:

13. That was a classic moment for Big Ed...
I shall never forget it--bringing all of Rush's stupidity and hubris into one paragraph.

Great idea--those soldiers don't need to be preached to be someone who hates them and their brothers and sisters back home.
