although it's main focus was sports. And it was interesting because it was mostly hard core RWers. It was interesting because I DEFINITELY got an idea of the RW arguing style. It helped me recognize that style when I see it elsewhere. Even here.
But my attitude is that there are VERY few RWers who will be convinced and that's the same with hard core LWers (like me). What you argue for is the soul and agreement of the middle or the uninformed. HOPEFULLY, the few undecideds left will be swayed by YOUR arguments, not the other side. Unfortunately, I don't know of many web sites that welcome all sides of the spectrum. I suppose if I found one that I liked I'd post there occasionally.
However, being a radical socialist, I find too many people even on here that don't recognize the dangers of the capitalist system. I like arguing the merits of my brand of socialism AND the merits of anticapitalism. I figure that if I can't convince other LWers and left leaning "moderates" to the advantages of an anticapitalist socialism, then I need to hone my arguing skill more. As far as I'm concerned we're in the education/agitation stage of the class struggle in this country and THIS is where I need to start to do my bit with the education/agitation. Once most left leaners are convinced, then move on to the working class RWers who vote against their own economic interests.
There is one other web site that I've posted on in the past that's even more LW than this one. And although I enjoyed the people and the ideas discussed, I felt I was REALLY preaching to the choir and vice versa. IOW, I wasn't doing any good in the education/agitation department by talking to people who had the same basic viewpoint that I did. This site provides the opportunity to try and convince people of the correctness of the anticapitalistic socialist views without everybody being in lock step over the major issues involved.
Finally, I learn a TON of shit here. :)
Edited to add a thought.
