4. Go Rahm!
He's the best of the lot!

5. Poor Chicago,
The city will suffer badly under Rahm, worse it gives him a political standing that will allow him to pursue further, higher offices.

7. He'll win, unfortunately. Because people are too stupid to do their research.
They don't realize how he's going to complete Daley's mission to place a big "FOR SALE" sign on the rest of the city that isn't privatized already.

I voted for del Valle.

14. It's hard to even call this an "election".
From the moment Daley announced he wouldn't run, it's almost as if Rahm were "appointed". No matter what you think about the guy, this isn't good for democracies.

15. Actually, people are in the precincts voting, so it's an election
I know because I was in my voting place (a Mexican restaurant on Lawrence) this morning. I've never seen so many white people in one place in my neighborhood! Were you in your voting place this morning? If not, are you going tonight? I can assure you that people are indeed voting, so it is, indeed, an election. In fact, the most undemocratic thing about this election was the absurd attempt to remove Rahm Emmanuel from the ballot, when everybody knows he is a resident of Chicago. That was undemocratic, but people here cheered it because it would give them the result they want.

Here's the thing about elections: you don't always win. And when you lose, sometimes you just lose, and it's not about "stolen elections" or "appointing" or anything like that. Sometimes, the person you don't want to win is just more persuasive, or people just like and trust him or her more. It's not really that complicated.
