Bloomberg reporting that on average middle school teachers make 50K, 5% less than
private, including benefits

Funny how some of the posts I have read report that the MSM have been reporting much higher salaries than they are

That is one reason why I don't watch the MSM because they have no credibility

1. Do the private schools have pensions?
I suspect that they have some half assed 401K program that doesn't get one quarter of the public contribution. There are probably a whole range of benefits that the private schools don't offer.

2. Back when I was working in engineering a recently graduated engineer's
starting salary was almost $65,000, plus benefits and perks...this was in the mid 1980's.
Reports of teachers making huge amounts of money are total lies...it is the politicians who are overpaid, but you won't ever hear one of them say that, no matter what party they belong to.

3. In my experience public school teachers make more than private school teachers
Especially Catholic schools. But the kids are less of a hassle.

Now some fancy school like Lab School or Latin may pay more (and should for 20k a year per kid).

So I call shenanigans.
