George H.W. Bush "enjoys the most universal affection of the group (ex-POTUS')??
OK, what's up with all this? Why are we having this guy thrown in our faces more often? Are they hoping to drown out his real legacy with all these puff pieces/get togethers?

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/washington/20110222-former-presidents-to-honor-george-h.w.-bush-promote-public-service.ece

From Navy hero to commander in chief, public service has defined George H.W. Bush’s life. Next month, three other ex-presidents will gather with him at the Kennedy Center to pay tribute to a life of giving back — and to rally the nation to the cause of volunteerism.

“He and my mother, by the example they’ve set in their own lives of serving others and through their lifelong commitment to promoting service, have left a great legacy of service,” Neil Bush said.

(snip)

Such a gathering of ex-presidents is a rarity, but Bush — with his “kinder, gentler” image, probably enjoys the most universal affection of the group, which last gathered in January 2009.

George P. Bush said his generation, the “9-11 generation,” is relatively apathetic about politics, though volunteerism has skyrocketed. “To see an event like this, where people put aside party and differences for one night … is inspiring in itself,” he said.

2. What universe were they referring to? Not the one I'm on.
Maybe they are trying to clean up the family image to get Jeb ready to run in 2012?

God help us.

5. Everyone loves a smooth corporate hit man with a clean, white shirt and buffed fingernails.
An American ideal, of a type.

7. The "group" is ex-presidents
Consisting of the War Criminal and Pardoner of War Criminals, his son, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. The only reason Carter doesn't enjoy the "most" universal affection of that group is because of the petty jealousy of the War Criminal and Pardoner of War Criminals and his son.

Did I mention that George H.W. Bush is a war criminal and a pardoner of war criminals?
