And if the motherfucker would drop dead right now, I wouldn't shed a tear. There would be cheer heard from the capitol rotunda - probably heard in Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota.

7. A couple of points about all those R Governors--

You notice that both Bob & Philip LaFollette were Republicans. In those days, the Progressive movement was a branch of the Republican Party. Also, Wisconsin Republicans were traditionally rather middle-of-the road & most of them were relatively strong environmentalists (as Republicans go).
