1. The 2nd chart in the op is devastating. Look at that and consider what it really means.
Also consider the implications given the supreme courtesans ruling around campaign contributions.

with an onerous corporate tax rate. This, we are told, is the reason that businesses are fleeing the US.

Give me a break. How stupid do you have to be to believe that one!
