Oklahoma Republican authors bill to end collective bargaining for municipal employees statewide
Republican State Rep. Steve Martin has written a very short 1 page bill that is going to committee tomorrow which, if approved, would end collective bargaining rights for municipal and county employees statewide.

Here is the entire text of the bill:

It's just that easy to strip away employee rights. This is a nationwide plan hatched by republicans to destroy unions and I am afraid they may succeed.

3. A similar bill got introduced in WA State, too.
luckily, we have a solid democratic majority in both houses (not that they do much with it), so it died quickly.

4. We have republicans in control of everything in OK
This bill stands a good chance of passing. Now all my fellow employees who reap the benefits of the union but don't want to pay for union membership (thanks right to work), are going to find out what happens when their wrongheaded ideas meet their paycheck and benefits.

6. I didn't. I voted for every democrat on the ballot.
I voted against right to work. I joined AFSCME as soon as I was able to and pay my dues proudly. My fellow employees who mock the union and criticize it while still enjoying the benefits of it's work are about to face a harsh reality. One staunch republican said the saber rattling against public service employees was beginning to bother even him. Still he won't do anything like join the union to protect his hard earned pay and benefits. Why should he? Only suckers and dumb democrats like me would pay for something you can get for free.

7. The only way to wake these people up is to let them get fucked.
And I know that sounds harsh, but when it means lower wages and safety, they might wake up, but as dumb as most of them are, probably not.
