KOLD - Tucson, Arizona
Rep. Raul Grijalva offered support to the hospital where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was taken after being shot Jan. 8.
He met and thanked the staff at University Medical Center who helped save the life of his friend and congressional colleague.
Grijalva says he was very impressed with the professionalism, compassion, and care provided to every patient treated at UMC, and says he'll work hard to make sure Tucson keeps its only Level One trauma center long into the future.
"We should do what we can to make sure that this institution and its response to the health needs of this community is protected and we do what we can that it has the resources to do the job that we expect and sometimes take for granted," he said.
