What happened to the democratic party? Since when does the
partys elected officials stay what I consider quiet, when the opposing party is attacking what it stands for? The common man. What the hell is going on? Something is terribly wrong.

1. Our party's officials have mostly done that since 1966
They've been too scared to fight back ever since Reagan won his first term as governor. They assume that the argument has been lost forever and that our ONLY option is to perpetually keep sliding further and further right, insisting that we're still different than the GOP because "we still aren't QUITE as far to the right as THEY are".

It hasn't sunk in yet, forty-five years later, that this approach never actually WORKS.

10. You brought something to my mind. Maybe it was a few years earlier.
After Kennedy was shot. Yes I think that had a great psychological effect on our party.

Great voters, not pathetic democratic politicians that speechify well but don't deliver.

That is why I use democratic party. You and I are democrats. I am much better at math than english.

27. They say both things - they don't like to say "democratic"
or democracy, because they believe in neither anyway. In fact, they don't even believe in a representative republic - rather, in plutocracy, autocracy, kleptocracy & kakistocracy & fascism.

35. I've been waiting for that Call to Action since 2008:

Obama had a MANDATE for "CHANGE", and an ARMY in the streets after the election.
Instead of Leadership and "CHANGE", we got "Chill Out. I've got this."
"I never campaigned on a Public Optipon."
"We don't begrudge them their wealth."
"They are just savvy businessmen."
"Its the FREE MARKET!"
"The Republicans have a lot of great ideas!
"We have to honor contracts" (for RICH people's bonuses).

A mandate unused is a mandate wasted.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans.
I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans."
---Paul Wellstone

"By their works you will know them."

12. This is why I unenrolled from party affiliation.
When I went to city hall, there was a signature page for voters who choose to change parties. All but one (out of 25 or so) had switched to Unenrolled. Not Dem, not Pub. Unenrolled.

if they get too involved. It is better that these demonstrations are seen for what they are very clearly.... Americans fighting for their right to organize and touching greatness in the process.
