Just on Big Edd...Wisconsin Natl. Guard touring corrections & other gov't facilities
He said he didn't know why-
I'll tell you why & its right out of Ronnies playbook. They are going to fire you & have the Guard fill your positions...Hell or high water.

Just my .02

14. Can you imagine them trying to replace
teachers with the National Guard? The kids would eviscerate them.

17. I'd love to see a Guard after he or she has been trying just to keep order
in a classroom of 25 8 and 9 year-olds.

It's almost comical to think about.

I'd expect quite a few Guard resignations at the earliest possible moment.

20. Start the Daily 5 training now, before it's too late.
Not to mention how to get kids to stop wiping their nose with their hands.

5. Sure, they can replace prison guards with Guardsmen...
But can the National Guard handle 25 first-graders?

I think not.

18. I think that the Guards would sick out after just one day in a classroom
just trying to keep order.

Can you imagine a Guard making less plans and correcting spelling books?

P.S.--My Mom taught 3rd grade for many years. I have a pretty good second hand idea about how difficult keeping control of a classroom is.

Wisconsin Governor Threatens To Replace Union Workers With National Guard

February 15, 2011

.....

The last time Wisconsin called in the National Guard was in 1886. The Guard, then called the State Militia were brought in to break a rally of Milwaukee workers advocating an 8-hour work day. The militia fired into a crowd of unarmed picketers; it's estimated that 5 to 7 workers were killed.

9. and how did that work out in the long run, eh?
I don't think it will come to that. Walker may TRY to strong-arm, but I don't think the people will buy it. People are turning against him in droves - even the ijuts who voted for him. They "didn't know" he was "like that"....

12. Maybe we are seeing one more opportunity to rectify the tragic turn in 1963.
We will never forget.

10. His guest said involving the National Guard has been in the works for a while
It's creepy. They all in lock step in various states, talk about a playbook.

16.  I have no doubt "playbook" thing is literal.

I'm sure there is a step by step, written out plan for just such an occasion. There were many stories floating around during the Bush years about soldiers being trained and tested to see if they would fire on American citizens if ordered to.

You know, if it ever comes down to that, and this starts looking like Libya, that will be the turning point. Remember how it took an "event of Pearl Harbor" proportions to enact the PNAC plan? Well I've been saying that it's going to take an act just as big to reverse the trend. This would do it. Not what I was hoping for though.
