FIRST AMENDMENT EMERGENCY IN MADISON: Scott Walker Administration Is Blocking Opposition Web Sites in the Wisconsin Capitol

MADISONˆIn a direct assault on the First Amendment, Scott Walker's administration is blocking access in the Wisconsin Capitol to opposition Web sites.

Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate; Charles Hoornstra, a former Assistant Attorney General of Wisconsin; and Sachin Chheda, a Democratic activist and former official who oversaw the technologies involved, will lay out the case and call for the Walker administration to immediately cease the chilling tactics.

the site stopped responding for us at distance... it may be a Denial of Service Attack.

I got a cache

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://thinkobscurelyforward.appspot.com/www.defendwisconsin.org

But a live version I do not... smells like a DNS attack.

8. question for the 'puter geeks...
how close to the Capitol do you have to be to gain access to a wifi signal?

(heck, I don't know if I'm even asking this right!)

11. I need to be around 100 yards from any router
depends on the thingy majigy. In the House they are probably blocking these things at the software level. Essentially telling the system to close the door to these places, aka not even let you go there. This seems to be a Denial of Service, they are getting so many requests, aka calls on the phone, that the circuits are down.

Trying to explain DOS attacks is always fun. Oh and they are ilegal. As much as I go WHOOHOO when Anon does it to Master Card, they are ilegal

14. Yes and you have buildings on the way too
so you also have interference. Remember your old TV and how having something between you and the TV station led to grainy signals? The Routers are essentially radio transmitters. They are also low power radio transmitters. That said if you have a starbucks nearby. they now have free wi fi access at all starbucks thourhg AT &T, my local coffee shop also has one of them, and it's range is about twenty feet... best case

2. Walker must be trying to give grounds for impeachment!
What are the requirements for impeachment in Wisconsin? Since he cannot be recalled for nearly a year from now, that might be the quickest way to get him out.

4. The Dems need a majority first. The rules for impeachment
is it is started in the house for charges to be brought then moves to the senate for conviction. Pugs will never start anything like that.

10. Yeah, I realized - Wisconsin is in the same boat we are here in Florida
An insane governor and a Republican led legislature that would not take a chance of damaging their party even if it was in the best interest of the state.

How the hell did these whackos get in? Anyone with half a brain should have seen their agenda up front. I just hope we can fix our states after they break them.

19. They are a tool but who is controlling them?
I suspect the same powers that are pushing the anti-union crap and that have funded the tea baggers.

6. You forget who controls the House
and if you think the Republicans will go there... but he might be giving grounds for a DOJ investigation. Espeically now that we seem to have a DOS attack on at least one site.

7. It's a first amendment issue. If he is denying first amendment
rights, he is breaking a law he took an oath to uphold..the constitution. He might be taken down by the law enforcement people?

Civil lawsuits for denial of civil rights. I'll bet there are some lawyers that might take that on.
