Full Senate schedules vote on 2 US District court nominees, GOP majority now almost 100 judges
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 12:00 AM by usregimechange
At 4:30pm, the Senate will turn to Executive session to consider the following nominations:

- Amy Tottenberg, of Georgia, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia; and

- Steve C. Jones, of Georgia, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia.

Note: When Obama took office I analyzed the US District court and found that 54%-36% Republican majority. Currently it is 51%-37%. Moving fast enough for you?

1. No, it isn't moving fast enough
Where are the Tea Baggers to tell the Senate Republicans to do their jobs? They're all non-partisan, aren't they? That's at least what they were peddling to the public last year.

These two nominees will sail through full Senate votes with "no" votes you can count on one hand, if there are any "no" votes at all. You will see exactly zero coverage of that by the intrepid bulldogs of the Fourth Estate.

2. Of the 48 confirmed so far I wonder how many replaced republicans.
I was hoping that Obama would speed up on the nominations, but with all that's going on in the Middle East, etc. - who knows.
