One party states...

are not democratic. Yesterday's local paper had a column by Rich Lowe about the awfulness of the one party state of Hawaii where the Democrats are now in power. I agree but he made no mention of the one party states of Texas, Wisconsin, Ohio, Alabama, etc. that are dominated by the GOP/Tea Parties.
I only read part of the lede because I cannot stand the hypocrisy and spin that always seems to be present in the right wing. I truly don't know how they live with their cognitive dissonance.
Don't wish for any one party to dominate. It is not democratic. Do hope that a new party evolves from the remnant of moderates now in the GOP so that we can get on with building our country internally.

Hawaii had a Republican governor till this year (I know that and I'm not even American!) The right wing probably think that Hawaii is (a) evil and (b) located in Kenya, because President Obama is from there.

state. California (and much of the SouthWest) have with "too many" Hispanics. Hawaii has "too many" Asians and native Hawaiians.

The folks with the funny hats are very suspicious of such states, hence their desire to "take our country back" and make it a safe place for white, Protestant males. Ahhh, the good ol' days when "we" had it all. ;)
