I didn't think it would end like this.

Why did the Dems come back?

6. Apparently an incorrect takeaway from the Fox & Friends interview of Walker this morning.
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 10:58 AM by NorthCarolina
Walker was DARING the Dems to return this evening. He was not indicating that they ARE returning.

On edit: PS - I do not watch F&F, but I located the most possible source for this OP by Google search.

13. just got this e-mail from the WI Senate Dems
Dear Friends,

Nearly 130 hours ago fourteen courageous State Senators left the Senate floor, blocking the GOP's attempt to strip Wisconsin workers of their basic rights.

Over the last two days, Governor Walker and his Republican allies in the legislature escalated their attempts to bully the fourteen Senators into giving up their fight. The Republican leadership voted this morning to withhold the Senator's paychecks, and Governor Walker is now promising to fire 1500 state employees unless the fourteen Democratic Senators give in to his demands - and promises even more layoffs in the future.

But these fourteen Senator's aren't going to be bullied into giving up their fight for Wisconsin's workers.

Today, I hope you'll join me in standing with them as they stand with all of the hard working men and women who have made Wisconsin a great place to live and raise a family.

The fourteen Senators have spent their time away from the Senate floor hard at work for the people they represent. They have made thousands of calls to constituents, spoken with community leaders, taken part in legislative committee's by telephone, and continued to urge the Governor to come to the table.

Unfortunately, Governor Walker has rejected all discussion and compromise. Even after an estimated quarter of a million citizens from around Wisconsin showed up at the Capitol and in their communities to protest his actions, the Governor refused to end his assault on workers' rights.

The only thing standing in his way is fourteen courageous Democratic Senators.
