I think that after that prank phone call, Walker's career is done.
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 01:37 PM by Lyric
He'll be left hanging out in the wind by himself after this. Even the Koch brothers can see now that he's too incredibly STUPID to be a useful tool anymore. Right-wingers usually WANT stupidity--in their voter base, anyway. But they expect their chosen "leaders" to have at least some degree of common sense and intelligence. This one has officially gone past his expiration date.

5. Well he did admit to thinking about doing criminal acts
Taking a baseball bat to protesters and planting "trouble makers" into
the crowd to stir up problems.

People in Wisconsin should be starting to collect signatures to recall his ass
in one year. Although I never thought an alcoholic coke head who went
AWOL and drove 2 or 3 businesses into the ground could become President.

This is a matter for attorneys to consider.

11. How about admitting to looking forward to getting a bribe?
Koch: Well, I tell you what, Scott: once you crush these bastards I’ll fly you out to Cali and really show you a good time.

Walker: All right, that would be outstanding.

14. You're exactly on point...but whether that rose to a crime
is the question.

Criteria must be met. Lawyers know that stuff.

As a Wisconsin citizen, with familiarity of how my neighbors react, I think Walker has committed a MORAL atrocity in the eyes of Wisconsinites.

16. We got our own problems here in Ohio
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x488736

This is a national program to kill the Unions.

Scott Walker, "I talk to Kasich every day."

http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/116737394.html

"I talk to Kasich every day. John's going to stand firm in Ohio. I think we do the same thing with Rick Scott in
Florida. I think (Rick) Snyder, if he got a little support, could do the same thing in Michigan. I think if you go
down the list, a lot of us new governors got elected to something big."

Now are they still gonna say this is not a coordinated national attack on labor and the middle class by the Koch
Brothers and the right wing.

This IS class war.

And some very big battles are taking shape outside of Wisconsin.

15. I agree with you 100%
The GOP lie factory can turn false into true. They are busy at work white-washing Ronald Reagan's career now. Iran-contra? Arms sales to enemy nations? No action whatsoever on the leading health crisis of our time? Pesky details, details. . .

6. I think most Wisconsinites will not view this favorably.
There are going to be die-hard supporters, but just like Nixon, he has lost the majority.

No one denied Walker won. And, Wisconsinites from every political persuasion expect their Gov to govern in the best interest of the state not his political legacy.

As I have written in other places on DU, Walker can be made to be his own worst enemy. The BEAST prank caught out the cocky little S-O-Baptist Minister.

10. Indeed
Corruption and thuggery aren't bugs for a Republican, they're features! Walker should have no trouble brazening this out, if the usual script is followed. It will take the active connivance of the popular media, but they're doing pretty good work for Boehner, Bachmann and Palin; one more won't be that big a deal for them.

20. I hope you're right, but won't hold my breath.
Considering that right wingers believe Palin has enough common sense and intelligence to be president, I'm not convinced that Scotty Boy has expired. RWers are more likely to rally around him at this point than to throw him overboard. The end always justifies the means with this crowd.

34. exactly, 100% absolutely correct...
...compromise is absolutely NOT in Walker's nature, his self-perceived strength is never to yield. Take it from one who witnessed his autocratic 8-yr misrule of Milwaukee County, now teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.

He won't bend, he'll have to be broken. Past successes make him smugly confident he can control and ride out the storm he has conjured up, but this one isn't just a tempest in a county teapot anymore. He has sown the wind here in Wisconsin, but can he remain standing in the whirlwind he will reap? Prediction: If/when he goes down, he'll try to take the whole state with him.
