Congressman Allen West (Rep. Fla--Crazytown) tells Muslim townhall participant: "You attacked us!"

So apparently Mr. Nemar Hamze is responsible for the September 11th attacks due to the fact that he is a Muslim.

Whoo-Kay, Mr. "Higher Security Clearance Than The President/I Got Keith Olbermann Fired".

He then goes on to talk about how he "went to Muslim countries to try to defend the freedom of Muslim people." And by "defending the freedom of the Muslim people", apparently he actually means "shooting a gun by the head of an unarmed detainee which resulted in no actionable intelligence." For which he was charged with a violation of the UCMJ and forced to resign from the Army in disgrace.

21. I really wish Klein's staffers would have vetted campaign ads better than they did.
And redacted West's Social from the flier. A dumb mistake, probably unintentional, but it was egg on Klein's face for doing that, and it gave West's camp unnecesssary ammunition against him. Meanwhile, West said that he wanted Klein afraid to leave his own house, but no one ever called him on that.

4. He replaced Grayson?
 I thought it was somebody else. Didn't he get into some hot water by running an ad about "Taliban Dan" or something like that?

3. And Floridians wonder why so much of the country ridicules them?
Okay, I know many of the sterotypes about Florida are just mean-spirited. I also know that California sure isn't perfect. But, hey Florida, you really don't help your case any when you elect obviously demented crackpots like West to public office. I mean, Good God, you oughta be ashamed of yourselves!

6. Yeah umm, Darrell Issa
Fact is that idiots like this are electable in a lot of surprising places these days. The reason for that is the heavily polarized political climate between the two parties. People don't pay much attention to who a candidate is anymore, just what color jersey he wears come game day. This seems especially true if the candidate in question is a Republican. Republican voters have been brainwashed so thoroughly they'd sooner vote for Genghis Khan than a Democrat of any kind.

West is a loon, but the low-information types that voted for him didn't know that. We did of course, but we don't really do a good job of getting that information out to the Fox News set. Now that he's in office people will start to realize just who they voted for. Any decent candidate will clobber him in 2012.

9. As I say, Cali has its own shame.
In some ways it's unfortunate that California is perceived as the bluest of blue states. Our pockets of scarlet produce some of the biggest wack-a-zoids: Bob Dornan, Darrell Issa, Tom McClintock, etc. Our dipshits tend to sail under the national radar for some reason.

11. Not to mention you sent a B-Movie Actor with failing mental facilities to the White House.
But hey, we Floridians have a Medicare Fraud in the Governor's Mansion, a War Criminal as a congressman, and a nepotist/cronyist/trust fund baby as a former governor.

And we both have palm trees and excellent beaches. Our oranges are better for juicing, your oranges are better for decoration, your beaches are better for surfing, our beaches are better for swimming.

Bottom line is both states are great places to live. But both have sent their share of numbskulls to public office, that's for sure.

18. We had a little help FROM THE REST OF THE NATION on that one.
But yes. I admit California is a very flawed place, with its own brand of idiots. Your post is quite right.

I actually like Florida. But whenever there's weird shit in the news, 95 times out of 100, it's coming out of Florida.

19. This guy is the biggest wacka-doodle ever
I think we need to dig deeper on him. Like the fact that he doesn't live in the district that he represents. That he has a former reporter on his payroll (I know she worked here at my station) who was giving him favorable airtime until she got caught (she should have been fired a long time before she actually was). Or where he got his finances to run his campaign here. That man is truly scary, but again I blame the media. They did nothing to dig into his past at all. Ron Klein had to do the media's work for them and ran nothing but negative ads. It's shameful what happened to this state in the last election.

22. Update: West accuses the man at the meeting of attacking HIS beliefs.
Because apparently we live in Bizarro World:

http://www.justnews.com/politics/26977444/detail.html#

We wanted to ask you to clarify what you meant when you said, ‘you attacked us.’ He is an American after all,” said Local 10’s Janine Stanwood.

"Well, he was standing there representing an ideology. And for him to stand there and attack me and what I believe in -- that's what I was talking about. Is, you know -- you all and your belief has attacked the United States of America,” West replied.
