Did Governor Walker admit to looking forward to getting a bribe?
(Faux) Koch: Well, I tell you what, Scott: once you crush these bastards I’ll fly you out to Cali and really show you a good time.

Walker: All right, that would be outstanding.

To me there seems to be little wiggle room here .... a payment was offered and he responded in a positive way

4. Conspiracy to commit a crime perhaps? It likely requires an "act in furtherance" in Wisconsin too.
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 02:02 PM by Hosnon
Talking about committing a crime is not a crime.

7. They put people in prison all the time for talking about crimes
Like trying to hire a hit man to kill your spouse or offering to give $
to a prostitute for a b.j..

11. No they don't. It always requires another act. Talking is not enough.

13. Trying to hire a hit man is worlds apart from talking about trying to hire one to kill your wife.
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 02:11 PM by Hosnon
Ditto for giving money to a prostitute for a b.j.

25. I think this whole week has been an act of furtherance, he just didn't know it until
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 02:50 PM by AlabamaLibrul
it was verbalized by "Mr. Koch" on the phone call.

10. As much as Walker's a dick, I would hesitate to call that a bribe.
He's not being offered something conditionally on the basis that he do something he wasn't already going to do. If a friend of yours says "Hey, finish up your work and all the booze is on me tonight," is your friend bribing you? WI state ethics laws might frown on this, but whether it constitutes a bribe, probably not.

15. I don't get the comparison, your friend has no financial stake
in you finishing your work and going for a beer. This is Walker accepting a reward for an outcome favorable to a private business. It's a bribe, for all intents and purposes.

20. But there's no evidence that he wasn't going to do it regardless of the "invitation."
Suppose your friend is the guy who you're doing the work for. He profits from you finishing.

In this case, Walker was already pursuing his course long before this call happened. There's no evidence that such an offer would affect his decision-making, and saying otherwise is stretching.

19. Scott Walker, "I talk to Kasich every day."
http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/116737394.html

"I talk to Kasich every day. John's going to stand firm in Ohio. I think we do the same thing with Rick Scott in
Florida. I think (Rick) Snyder, if he got a little support, could do the same thing in Michigan. I think if you go
down the list, a lot of us new governors got elected to something big."

Now are they still gonna say this is not a coordinated national attack on labor and the middle class by the Koch
Brothers and the right wing.

Walker was essentially out-smarted by a dildo?

24. They are trying to convict Blagojevich in Illinois
for some very similar things. He was caught on tape for making the same types of statements. He is trying to have the tapes thrown out right now.
