Exposing the Tea-bagger lie: "we prefer local government, not federal"
How often have you heard teabaggers say that they prefer local government? They love to say that local government can solve problems better than the federal gov't. Yet, time and time again, when they are in positions of power at the local and state level, what do they do? Without fail, they SLASH local government spending. They oppose even the most modest of taxes that could really help the local citizenry. Too often, people in need are forced to rely on charity because the local government simply cannot do anything.

Next time you hear this bullshit argument, call them on it.

1. That says it!
You have to find people who are amenable to facts and truth though. The problem with many of the bags is that you are dealing with someone who is breastfed the dubious information that corporate media outlets disseminate. Those are easily conflated with facts and some people can be counted-on to not consider alternate resources for information.

That's how corporations win this game. Advertising may not work on all of us, but it does its job on significant numbers of people and lots of money is still spent on that. Now that mass media is largely filtered and subject to the best interests of the corporations who own them and the people behind those corporations, it is a social engineering tool that manufactures consent enough to keep the process of takeover moving along.
