Everyone's a protester.
The winter of the nation's discontent has reached Fox News. Literally.
If you watched Glenn Beck's show last night you will recall he opened with a live camera shot of crowd's outside Fox News' studios in midtown Manhattan. I think it was only a matter of minutes before Beck connected that crowd, to the one in Wisconsin and then to the Middle East.
Ed Schultz also caught the opening and took it upon himself to walk across the street to find out what people were so angry about.
The protester he spoke to were in fact union protestors who connected Fox to the Tea Party whose Wisconsin representatives are essentially trying to break the unions.

The protesters were certainly not violent, but sure did have some fighting words aimed at Fox.
One protester blamed Fox News for costing former Wisconsin Democratic Senator Russ Feingold his job while also claiming “Fox and the Tea Party are one and the same.” Another protester alleged “Fox is a megaphone for the kind of ideology and philosophy that is anti-union and against the middle class. I think of them as being anti-patriotic and anti-American.” Last night Bill O’Reilly was curious why there was such hatred directed at Fox News by the Wisconsin protesters and now he’s at least received some potential theories from their New York supporters.
When Schultz returned to his studio, he discussed how Wisconsin Governor Walker is not only receiving favorable notice from Fox News for bringing about a union showdown, but also how he may have been encouraged to do so by powerful conservative forces like the Koch brothers and the Heritage Foundation. Given that Republicans have only been in power a couple of months, Schultz wondered if this could only be the beginning of a right wing “master plan” slowly coming together. With Beck offering up his nightly theories, it looks as if Schultz has decided that he too wants to play that game.
