There's a palpable change in the mood. Is it just me?

For the first time, I truly feel like the Right is on the defensive, even more so than in 2006 and 2008. (I should note that I'm in a red city in a red Southern state.)

I'll be damned if the Tunisian experience hasn't made its way over here and taught us a thing or two about people power.

1. there's a reason they don't like revolutions.... they are catching...
after our own revolution the french had one.... so it's only natural. in some ways i would like to say this is a good thing. wake people up. will they finally realize that the things we take for granted are not guaranteed us. We must be vigilant and wary and skeptical and make our representatives REPRESENT US!!

2. There's a little bit of a swing it seems............
But one lesson to learn is that we can't take ANYTHING for granted with these thugs. They ALWAYS have to be confronted on their bullshit EVERY FUCKING TIME. And it will be a CONTINUING struggle.

We've also got to recognize who the PAID "Koch whores" are and who the dupes are. It's our duty to TRY and make the dupes SEE that they're being duped. The whores OTOH.......

5. It's just because they haven't pulled the trigger yet.
There will be consequences, but mostly for our side.

Is that the inner "great minds" working in the think tanks across the country know what the numbers really are.

They saw the turnout for Obama in 2008. (Wasn't the voters fault that we got snookered.)

They still remember when so many millions of people took to the streets in the relative prosperous times of Feb 2003 to protest the coming Iraq War under Bush.

They know most people hate the on going wars.

They know how dismal the Tea Bagger numbers are. Sure the Tea Bagger movement seems loud and alive if you are talking about Wichita Kansas. But in the overall scheme of things, the rallies that the Tea Baggers have pulled off don't represent anywhere near the numbers of people who are liberals, and who are progressives, and who are sick, sick, SICK of the way life in this once great nation of ours is turning out.

They know that the "nine percent unemployed" figure has as much reality as the Tooth Fairy. (Well, since Parents fill in for the Tooth Fairy, I really shouldn't be slamming her/him.)

I truly believe they are shitting their pants. Doesn't matter which official we are talking about - they are scared. From our State Dept where Hillary Clinton spoke about the security of the Mubarak government and how untouchable it was, way, way back on January 25th of this year.

To our beloved leader, who must have had to ask himself some hard questions right after the loss to the Republicans in Nov 2010. After all, in Oct and Nov, he showed up at auditoriums that had been standing room only in Fall 2008, and looked out at vast numbers of seats where no people are sitting.

He is learning the hard way that the American People need more than pretty speeches. They need a just and honorable government, and not the type of Administration he is running, which is bought and paid for by differing members of the Ultra Rich, than the Rich who paid for the government under Bush. But an oligarchy it is none the less.

10. I hope it simmers down a bit; its MUCH better when they get cocky and really overreach
It's nice to see them getting some much-needed resistance to their atavism, but I really want them to get full of themselves and reach for the moon. When they get emboldened by a perceived tidal shift, they start to believe their own propaganda and skewed information; that's when they show the innocents their true colors.

Ram through a tax cut and then bellyache about the need to crush unions; this should be given no quarter. It's beyond obvious in its dishonesty and greed.
