Thinking about the Wisconsin labor unrest...
I really have to wonder: Is Scott Walker actually trying something more nefarious than we think?

Okay, we know the guy wants to abolish labor unions in Wisconsin. How in hell this is going to save any money when unions are right now giving concession after concession I don't know, but that's what's happening. It looks to me like Walker's going to suggest, at some point in time, that he'd be willing to drop the collective bargaining ban IF the Democrats promise not to oppose the rest of the bill--which allows the state to sell, on a no-bid basis, the state-owned utilities to the Koch Brothers.

The problem is this: on a potential harm basis, a bill WITH the collective bargaining ban and WITHOUT the Koch Brothers Civil Relief Act is going to damage the state less than a bill without the collective bargaining ban but with the KBCRA.

1. Read the bill, he wants to give away
the energy plants. And that is just for starters.

I am betting in the near future he wants to privatize the schools too, as well as the Universities.

3. The energy plants are one of the things I was referring to.
This bill is a win-win for Scott Walker.

If he gets the collective bargaining ban, he has completely eliminated the reason for unionization in the state of Wisconsin, and he'll be the front-runner for the White House in 2012. Without collective bargaining, the only thing the unions have left are old folk songs.

If he "compromises" by dropping the CB ban in exchange for the rest of the bill, the Koch Brothers will buy him the White House in 2012.

Either way he wins.

2. That ALSO seems like a battle we could win..........
from a PR standpoint. I'd stand firm on that too.
