Early this morning, the Republican majority issued an ultimatum to either cut off debate completely or limit the number of amendments. Republican leadership said that only one additional amendment per Democratic Assembly member would be allowed and debate time would be limited. The only other option they presented was to cut off debate entirely.

This attack on democracy is unacceptable and the voice of Wisconsin’s citizens must NOT be silenced.

Assembly Democrats would NEVER make a deal to attack the livelihood of Wisconsin’s middle-class families.

It is undeniable that this is exactly what this bill does.

After 48 hours on the floor, the Assembly Democrats have continued to put pressure on Governor Walker and Republican Legislative Leadership to come the table and reach an agreement.

The Assembly Democrats will continue to fight this egregious assault on Wisconsin Workers now and in the future.
