2. I wonder....
I really do understand people wanting to have unions to help
protect the workers, however when will these people realize
that the federal government and state governments are broke,
something must be done. If the people in these government and
state jobs are not willing to work with others to keep people
working, then please do us all a favor and seek other
employment. These benefits that protesters are crying out
about can not continue when the system does not have the money
to fund them. Please people, this country is in deep dodo, try
to think of someone other than yourselves. If you think things
are bad now wait a few years, then you will probably have
something to really complain about.

4. Why not just raise taxes to the level under Raygun? Why give huge...
...tax breaks to the wealthiest then cry "we're bankrupt"?

24. Then the PTB wouldn't have a plausible reason for cutting social spending.
For instance, who needs education when you have Roger Ailes on the case?

6. The government is broke because...
the richest people and corporations caused a financial crisis and refuse to pay their fair share of taxes. Even worse, they expect us to clean up their mess. Nothing to do with the unions. Either you are clueless or you think we are.

but are drawing the line at giving up their HARD FOUGHT AND WON right to collective bargaining

When are we going to stop giving tax cuts to the filthy rich? THAT is what is destroying this country.

10. Union members have been making concessions for years. Before
my husband retired, 5 years ago, he had not had a raise in about 3 contracts. Not to mention the lose of coverage in insurance while co-pays got larger, even after they gave up wages so they could have insurance. They now have tiered wages. This is just some of what the rank and file have given, what have the CEO's and the upper echelon given?
The public employees union in Wisc. have offered to give in on the financial aspect of the argument but that is not enough for walker, he wants to take away their right of collective bargaining. Why is it ok for companies and CEO's to get together, (mergers anyone?)but it is wrong for the workers? Everyone wants to get the best deal, so why take that right away?
The people are willing to negotiate, it is walker and the repugs who are not. They have come out and said they while NOT negotiate. This is NOT about money by any means.

12. Claybox. I live in a "Right-to-work" state.
The majority have no health insurance.
The average wage is a little over $8.00/hr.
The employees have absolutely NO job security.
Yes... my state, Texas, has the most extravagant wealth and abject poverty in The United States.
My state... one with NO unions.... looks a lot like Bangladesh.

21. Florida Is ANOTHER One Of Those Right To Work States & It's Almost
impossible for ANY workers to even TRY to get Unionized. Both my daughter & son-in-law work at a hospital that has been recognized nationally all the time. ANY talk of UNION is VERY QUICKLY squashed! And so many employees WANT a Union, but the word is that IF YOU push for it... you WILL lose your job!

VERY SICK!

It is being invested in the war machine and in tax credits for the obscenely wealthy.

17. Your RepubliCon friends spent the budget into a hole and now want to "balance"
the budget on the backs of workers. Your Gov Walker gave huge tax breaks to the oligarchs and now wants workers to make it up.

There are only two sides and it sounds like you side with the oligarchs.

How 'bout we just stop the unnecessary wars and occupations? That is where most of our money is wasted, not on teachers and cops.
