Olbermann: NY Times Punk'd!
"New York Times Punk’d By Anti-Union Plant
Posted on February 28, 2011
Few news stories better spoke to the destruction of union solidarity and the realization that even those public employees collectively bargaining in Wisconsin were going to have to give something back, than the New York Times’ piece a week ago tomorrow titled “Union Bonds In Wisconsin Begin To Fray.”

The by-line was shared by no less than Arthur G. Sulzberger, the son of the publisher and official carrier of the Times’ family name. The piece ran prominently on the front page. Sulzberger himself interviewed the main ‘get’ in the piece. Beyond the mere reporting was the symbolism of the Times - even the sainted liberal media Times – throwing in the towel on the inviolability of unions, conceding that an American state could renege with impunity on a good faith contract with anybody, and that maybe the Right is right every once in awhile.

Problem is, A.G. Sulzberger’s featured disillusioned unionist interviewee…wasn’t in a union."

6. I just now noticed--your Uncle Sam
looks like Bernie Madoff. Can you replace his face with that of George Clooney?

8. I know who it is. It just struck me funny that
Bernie's face looks like that. And I really needed a laugh this morning.

5. Tidbit announced as if Sulzberger cares, or should care
He had a story to write, and a source to quote. That's all that's required at the Times anymore. When Judith Miller had a story to write about the desireability of invading Iraq, all she had to do was gin up a guy in a baseball cap, dozens of yards away. Then she quoted one of her handlers to the effect that the man was pointing to the locations where Saddam Hussein had had those ol' debbil weapons of mass destruction. Hey presto! a casus belli!

And away we went.

If the NYT doesn't watch out, they're going to develop credibility issues.

Oops, ten years too late.

12. I got an idea, get that disillusioned unionist interviewee, Joe Da Plumber and me on Jon Stewart
And I'll make faces like Chevy Chase used to do on Saturday Night Live to Jane Curtain behind their backs when they are talking on camera.

LoL

Great point, Keith!!

13. I think Keith is right about who he is
He actually owns a patent on some automobile technique

Hahn; Richard E. (Janesville, WI)

Bankruptcy in 2004?

http://www.statelinebusiness.com/1204/bank12.htm

NYTimes says he is 50. Richard E. Hahn is 50

http://www.veromi.com/Search.aspx?sType=name&db=&fn=Richard&mn=E&ln=Hahn&city=&state=WI&dobmm=&dobdd=&doby=

So, apparently the really funny thing is that on the prank call, Walker went on and on about how much he loved the NYTimes story, talked about the guy and everything. Then when Sulzberger does a story on the prank call (a long story in the NYTimes) he doesn't even mention it, even though it was his own story. Maybe he didn't want to highlight it since it was fraudulent? I had a link to that and lost it. Oops.

14. As with every other significant
issue the American media of every stripe spews misinformation. This is a vast right wing conspiracy. There is no question about that.
