You realize that Walker/Koch and all their peeps...
are going to lose this one...don't you?

They will NOT win on this one. The longer they drag this out, the worse the aftermath for them and their minions.

The numbers get bigger. People are protesting in every state. Now Anon is involved. It is past the point where it is possible for the bad guys to win.

We can only hope, for the sake of this country, that they're stubborn enough NOT to give in. Because the longer this drags on...the more disastrous it becomes.

Sorry to my Wisco Union brethren that I'm rooting for this to go longer. Just realize, the longer you are there, protesting, the more spectacular the defeat will be when they finally give up.

And at this point it's not a matter of "if"...it's matter of "when".

Hang in there Wisco.

3. The guy in the WH has nothing to do with this...
thank God.

He's actually playing it the way he should. He needs to stay the hell out of this. Him getting involved is exactly what they want. He's a polarizing figure for the right and him getting involved would make it easier for them to get their base motivated.

We don't want them motivated. We don't want them screaming "STATES RIGHTS!!! FASCISTS!!!". They're attempting to goad him in because they WANT him involved. They've already got all their talking points lined up for the moment he joins the kerfuffle.

Don't fall for it. They WANT him in the middle of this. It only helps them.

4. I respectfully disagree, any person with morals would get involved regardless
of some bogus right-wing agenda. If a president's intent is to lead, this is the perfect opportunity to show where he's coming from both ideologically and practically. The president's involvement would show that this is what America stands for, equal rights for all, not the equal rights that a person can out maneuver some right-wingers to temporarily get. In short, it's the right thing to do to get involved and support American workers.

5. Nope. He's doing EXACTLY what he should do in......
this type of situation, i.e., generic statements of support for the right to organize and bargain collectively. I DO wish he would come out with MORE of these statements (what, he's done two?), but he doesn't need to be there.

IF Walker tries to use the NG to break up protests, then Obama can go a little further and Federalize them, so they don't have to face mutiny charges WHEN THEY REFUSE THE GOVERNOR'S ILLEGAL ORDERS.

This is a PEOPLE'S uprising against the financial elites, no matter what the spark points were. If Obama gets involved, those elites can try to frame it as the big bad bully (Obama and the Feds) OR politics as usual (boring and Joe Sixpack can stop paying attention now). It needs to STAY a people's uprising.

2. Hey, my rec just put you over the top.
I have been saying that we hit the Gladwellian tipping point more than 10 days ago. Once we had 50,000 in the Capitol, it was all over.

7. Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book called "The Tipping Point."
It was very popular a few years ago, and I bet you could find the Cliff's Notes version on Wikipedia.

10. Unfortunately, that won't stop them
Too many easy victories from the DLC caving in has emboldened them.

They won't stop until there is revolution, bloody revolution, in this nation.

I say, bring it on. We got nothing to lose but our would-be overlords.

12. does anyone thinks "we" "win" when unions AGREE to cuts?....
....which is the argument the unions were making.

there should be no cuts, period. there should be increases in services for the vast majority of people.

we will actually win when when far vaster numbers rally with MAKE THE RICH PAY! as their universal slogan.

the short fall in the wisconsin budget is POCKET CHANGE to the Koch's and their ilk.....and we're talking about cuts to the average working person?

that's not a win in my book.

please do not let any of the above make you think i do not support the movement that is forming. i just think we've got a long way to go, and i refuse to accept cuts to workers as a "win".

13. Strategically, you are correct.
Tactically, this will certainly count as a "win", & many small wins often means strategic victory.

One day at a time...

14. you may think this strange, but in some ways a "win" ...
... could be disastrous.

the most crucial thing of all is the consciousness of the populace. what is it they are going to learn from this?

are they going to learn that merely breaking even-which is the best that defeating walker on this bill can do in and of itself-and going back to "sure, we'll give you all the cuts you want and the banks and corporations can still rake it in," is NOT a win.

the only real win is if people see that the rich must pay and proceed to make them pay. anything shy of that is a loss in that it squanders the movement.

giving cuts to walker voluntarily is the obama plan, and, quite frankly, the union plan. falling in line behind obama's bipartisanism and the unions accepting that cuts are necessary is the sure death of the movement.

this moment will not come again soon. NOW is the time for a radical change, not after massive cuts in workers compensation has been negotiated away.
