1. We're having sleet here, no wait, rain, no wait, freezing rain...
I'm sure it will end up as snow. :-(

9. I couldn't agree more...
I've lost track of the times I've been snowed in this winter - or gotten stuck. The 12-foot snowbanks were just starting to melt, so you could almost see to pull out into traffic, or pass another vehicle on a side street, and we're getting hit again. :(

Rhiannon12804, these days... x( :hi:

:grr:

16. My dog won't go out.
I carried him out as far as the porch, but he turned around and ran back inside. I think the Channel 13 guy said 8-15 inches, but it's impossible to tell since the wind is so strong that it's blowing all over, fine, wet and heavy, a perfect way to start the week. And I meant that snow sculpture... x( :hi:

How do they treat the one that does notice it and is willing to explain it for free.

And what would that mean in a larger context?

I try to post all the things I learn from so many great songs and stories, and am glad singers and songwriters can help explain so much stuff.

Side note, that is Eowyn from Tolkien story.

4. It's been snowing since this afternoon here in NY. Again.
It started out as heavy rain, which would have melted the 12-foot snowbanks, changed over to heavy wet snow, and now it's still coming down. We got another foot last weekend, too. :(

11. My weatherpeople can always be relied on to get it wrong
whether it's snow, rain, sun, wind, temperature or whatever. I always figured that the general rule of thumb is to always assume the weatherpeople are wrong about everything.

I remember when I was young one of the local regular network channels (CBS, ABC or NBC) did an ad for their news weather service (I think it may have been AccuWeather) that played on this theme. There would be a clip of the weatherdude giving the forecast for the next day as it would have appeared on the nightly news show saying it was going to be a glorious sunny day tomorrow so break out the shorts and sneakers and do something fun with the family, blah, blah, blah... and the next clip would be the same weatherdude standing out in the pouring rain looking sheepish and saying something like "uh, remember how we said it was going to be sunshine and warm temperatures... uh... um...". There was a voice over that said something catchy and humorous to the effect of "we try harder than everyone else to get it right, and apologize for when we don't". It was very funny and honest and very effective especially since other weather channels were always doing ads where they hype their superior accuracy. Genius advertising. That stations news ratings skyrocketed past the other network news channels after that ad ran and I think have stayed at the forefront ever since.

15. Personally, I'm not quite that disbelieving of
weather reports, but I very rarely pay attention to them any more. I figure if a really bad storm is on its way, I'll hear about it when I'm out and about. Most of the time the weather has minimal impact on my life, other than how to dress if I'm headed out somewhere.

18. That must have been a nail biter!
I kept looking outside and was astonished at the constantly changing precipitation and the rate at which it was falling. Was glad I was not out in it, glad you made it home safe!
